Hypoallergenic filters are better suited to trap fine particles that can infiltrate your unit, and ultimately harm your respiratory system. These filter types are not included with the purchase of a CPAP unit, and can be added afterward to offer a better protection against different allergens found in the ambiant air. Manufacturers recommend changing them after 6 months of use or less. Never use more than one filter at a time. Do not wash with water or soap.
